TRAINING LEADERS FOR TOMORROW

Over 20 Years Of Proven Excellence

Hope for the Future

The Indio Teen Center would like to express our support for the Angel Light Academy in providing valuable leadership training to Indio youth; teaching problem solving, communication, bullying resistance, and service. Their yearly program in the City of Indio has helped countless youth develop better self-esteem and take on leadership roles in our schools and community.

The Youth Leadership Conference, a 2-day conference for children aged 5-18 that teaches the foundations of leadership, problem solving, and bullying resistance started in a community room at the City of Indio’s Farm Labor Community (low income housing), and with its success has not outgrown the space and moved to a neighboring elementary school; allowing for more youth to partake in the training.

The Indio Teen Center Supports Angel Light Academy by assisting the program in recruiting new leadership training participants; as well as help older youth at the high school level to continue to foster their newly acquired skills at our after-school program through various life skills programs provided by the City of Indio.

Angel Light Academy has been a wonderful, positive part of so many student’s lives at Desert Sands Unified School District. Angel Light Academy teaches youth how to be leaders, how to problem solve, how to give back to the community, how to work together and all the while building a strong moral character.

I have had the pleasure of working with the Angel Light Academy for the last 10 years since I came to Amistad High School, but fortunately our students were already benefiting from this wonderful program for many years prior to that.

There is no doubt that this phenomenal program provides many students with leadership opportunities and community engagement. Students get exposed to bullying their soft skills, they learn coping skills, how to avoid or deal with conflict and bullying, improving self-esteem, new relationships with peers, and many more important and necessary aspects. Consequently, students are exposed to strengthening their character and becoming real assets to our schools and communities.

I definitely support the Angel Light Academy youth leadership programs and recommend it to all students. Personally, I am really excited for this year’s conference because my son is now old enough to take part of this wonderful growing opportunity for him.
